We are only a few hundred dollars from or goal of raising $8,000 for this year’s campaign for Legal Aid of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. This is true despite the fact that less than 20 lawyers or firms have contributed. Considering the fact that there are 299 licensed attorneys in Rutherford and Cannon County and, conservatively, at least 150 practicing lawyers, this is a very disappointing percentage, especially in light of Rule 6.1 of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct.
I implore all attorneys in Rutherford and Cannon County who have not contributed to do so. It is my fervent hope that will not only exceed our monetary goal significantly, but that we will have a majority of the practicing lawyers in our Judicial District contributing.
