The Smyrna Municipal/General Sessions Court became a full-time court effective September 1, 2006. We are in the process of altering our docket schedule. Effective November 1, we have eliminated the Saturday court sessions (known as the arraignment dockets) that were held on the third Saturday of every month. In its place, we will hold court every Monday at 9 a.m., 1 p.m,. and 3 p.m. Our Trial Night will remain set on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. (inmates) and 5 p.m. In the past we held court two Tuesdays a month, but we will now have Trial Night on the first four Tuesdays of every month. Finally, Traffic Court will remain set on Thursdays, but the time has changed to 3 p.m.
This schedule will probably remain substantially the same until the completion of the new Smyrna Justice Center on Enon Springs Road in 2007. Once the Justice Center is close to completion, the Court will reevaluate its schedule.
